Breed Description - The Buhund is squarely built and has a dense, flat-lying coat. The ears are pointed and their shape and size should harmonize with the head shape. The tail is firmly curled over the back.
Appearance/Size - Height: Males 17-18½ inches (43-47 cm) Females 16-17½ inches (41-45 cm)
Weight: Males: 31-40 pounds (14-18 kg) Females 26½-35½ pounds (12-16 kg)The Buhund is either tan or black.
Diet -Feeding dry Norwegian Buhund food rather than a moist canned style is best for your Norwegian Buhund. The mini kibbles’ tricky surface rubs against the teeth to remove as well as reduce plaque.
Temperament - is vigilant, cheerful, active, and untiring, intelligent and attentive. Very affectionate and need physical and mental stimulation and require consistent, leadership as they can be headstrong if they sense their handlers are not as strong minded as themselves. They like to be taught and learn very quickly. A natural watch dog, it is brave and vocal but not aggressive.
Shedding - he Buhund has a medium to short easy-care coat. The coat should be brushed regularly and needs extra care during shedding season. This breed is a seasonal heavy shedder.
